JUGGLING DUTIES
Because I believed patient relations should be the most important duty for the staff, giving the proper attention to and completing other duties important to the function of the practice often was difficult. Ordering medical supplies, managing the finances, overseeing marketing efforts and doing projects for Dr. Evans were all key to the efficiency of the practice and in a way affected patient relations.
Most of these activities required close attention to accuracy, a difficult task when interrupted by telephone and in person inquiries from patients. This is a common dilemma in most small practices so we just worked to make the best of it.
